Mammatus has been such a personal and important project to the whole team. We have always been deeply concerned by the very real climatological crisis that looms across our world and Mammatus is an expression of that fear.
We also felt that there are more to queer stories than what the mainstream media presents; that queer women are still not commonly seen in film. Mammatus shows a mature woman coming to terms with her queerness and her family as she attempts to battle an unforgiving world.
We started this project at the beginning of 2020 and have fought our way through the tribulations of being creatives during a pandemic. Our shoot has been interrupted by lockdowns multiple times as well as an actual storm, but we have forged a way through to complete this incredible film.
As our film completes post-production and begins its festival circuit, we will keep you updated on where you can see and support our film. So watch this space, we can’t wait to share Mammatus with you!
